Historie

Seit dem 16. Jahrhundert wird das Schuhmacherhandwerk in der Familie Kuhlmann betrieben. Aus dieser Zeit existiert noch ein handgeschriebener Zunftbrief der Schuhknechte.

Warum heißt das Schuhgeschäft eigentlich Kuhlmann?

1872

Ernst Kuhlmann I. nahm zum Schuhhandwerk den Schuhhandel dazu

1882

Anfertigung eines Paar Stiefels über den ersten selbst geschnitzten Leisten von Karl Benscheid – später Chef der Fagus Werke in Alfeld-Leine (Leistenfabrik).

1920

Ernst Kuhlmann II übernahm das Geschäft und eröffnete einen Schuhgroßhandel.

Eintritt in die Ring – Schuh (Einkaufsvereinigung).

1942

Geschäft musste wegen Schwammbefall umgebaut werden. Ware gab es nur auf Bezugsschein. Nach Kriegsende wurde das Geschäft von Kriegsgefangenen geplündert.

1948

Ernst Kuhlmann II. verunglückt tödlich. Seine Tochter Hildegard führt das Geschäft weiter, sein Sohn Ernst Kuhlmann III. übernimmt als Schuhmachermeister die Werkstatt.

1950

Hildegard Kuhlmann heiratet Heinrich Stoppkotte, der in die Firma mit eintritt.

1950

Eintritt in die Nord West Ring (Einkaufsvereinigung).

1952

Großer Umbau. Der Laden wurde vergrößert, zwei Häuser wurden miteinander verbunden. Die Außenfront wurde komplett verändert.

1972

Eröffnung eines zweiten Geschäftes „Quick Schuh“ in der Mittelstraße 35. Eintritt von Susanne Stoppkotte in die Firma.

1975

Ernst Kuhlmann III. verstirbt. Die Werkstatt wird verpachtet, befindet sich aber weiterhin im Haus.

1976

Ladenumbau.

1988

Ladenumbau.

1992

Susanne Nier, geb. Stoppkotte übernimmt das Geschäft von Ihren Eltern.

1997

125 Jahre Schuhhaus Kuhlmann.

1998

Ladenumbau Schuhhaus Kuhlmann wird Best Partner der Nord West Ring
